Sesame Place

Last week we went to Sesame Place with the kiddos for 2 days. Christina and I took Samantha and Matthew to Pennsylvania along with her sister Lori, her three kids and Tori. (Lets just say I'm still throwing up big bird feathers.) But seriously Samantha and Matthew had a blast with their cousins and all the Sesame Street Characters.

Matthew was so cute with all the characters at lunch. He would run up to all of them and give them hugs. Samantha never wanted to get out of the water and I couldn't leave the park fast enough! 2 days, 5 kids, water theme park, no sleep in the hotel, and talking muppets....what do you expect?? Don't judge me, you would all want to leave too!

Choking Hazard

These bad boys are DANGEROUS!!! I promise I'm not accident prone, but according to my last two posts, one would think otherwise! Today in Church I was eating Cheerios. I know what you're thinking...you're not 2 Jennah! But seriously they are so good and I always seem to have some in my purse for little Matthew. Anyway...while sitting in our joint 3rd hour at church I was feeling generous and was sharing my snacks with Tori, Reid and Mckay. While Reid had a mouth full of a Kashi Bar he got called on to answer a question. Everyone started laughing because they knew he had food in his mouth. Well I leaned down to get him some water and while doing this I popped a few more Cheerios into my own mouth....not smart! Just as I handed Reid my water I started to laugh and sucked a cheerio into my wind pipe and it was STUCK! Like seriously STUCK! I was choking. I turned to Tori and she asked me if I was OK? I couldn't say anything, I could only give her the universal choking sign. At that point I thought about thrusting myself on the bench in front of me to give myself the Heimlich. Still gasping for air, I got one cough out and sure enough my little friend flew out of my mouth. I had broken into a sweat and was shaking from fear at this point....But I was still alive. (OK OK I know a little Dramatic...but come on, I saw my life flash before my eyes) Of course I've been laughing about it ever since...but at the time...very scary! WARNING to all you Cheerio lovers out there...contrary to popular belief, you can't breath through the little hole, these suckas are dangerous!

Three Sprained Toes and a Bruised Ego

Monday night Tori and I decided to play hooky from the gym and head to the Westchester Mall for a little shopping! While on our way there we ended up in a horrible thunder/lighting/heavy winds/downpour...or what I like to call it, a Hurricane!!! Seriously I have driven in many storms in my 11 + years of driving. Snow, Wind, Rain, Dust, Fog...you name it, I've been in it! Well this one was bad. On the parkway, in which I pretend is a race course and drive...well let's just say, too fast, we were driving 10-15 miles an hour. (I don't even drive that slow in a school zone when children are present!) Anyway...you get my point, lots of rain, bad storm! We finally arrive at the mall and pull into the parking structure. The place was flooded and water was leaking everywhere. There was no way we were going to head back out into the storm, so we parked the car and walked up to the entrance of Nordstrom. Water was pouring down in front of the doors and there was a huge puddle standing in our way. I decided to be the "smart" one and jump through Niagara Falls to open the door....stupid mistake!! Just as I landed my flawless jump, I slipped in the puddle, smashed into the glass door, and was soaking wet! Picture a cartoon character slipping on a banana peel and falling straight onto their back. Well throw in a pool of water, a glass door, three sprained toes and an aching body...now introducing, ME! I wonder if I can get a hold of the security tape??? I had to go into the bathroom at Nordstrom and sit on their new high tech hand dryer to dry my clothes. It was seriously one of my most graceful moments to date!

10 days in Cali

I went home last week for Torey's High School Graduation and was able to make a little vacation out of the trip. I surprised Brennan at her baby shower, went to San Diego to visit Blair, hung out with Deanna as much as possible...even hit up Taco Lita! Went to the Melting Pot for the first time with Jennifer and all her Bridesmaids, and had breakfast with our old next door neighbors. Went to an Angel game and the UCLA vs. Cal State Fullerton elimination game. Attended the shortest high school graduation ever and lets not forget...laid out by the pool all day long!!! It was such a relaxing trip home! Of course I missed everyone back in Connecticut (and by everyone, I mostly mean Sammie and Matthew)
