For those of you who know me, Jennah Renae Ellis, know that the word CHANGE is not one of my favorites. In fact I really have a hard time with this word and always have. For the past 4 years I have been living with and working for the most amazing family in Connecticut. Connecticut has been a wonderful home to me and I've had so many wonderful experiences along the way. Well about 3 months ago I put in my "2 weeks notice." This was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Thinking about leaving the Feeny family and moving on to something else was really hard to cope with. Well after some really tough weeks and conversations that were full of tears, we have all come to terms with "The Big Move of 09!" The initial move was going to be back to Salt Lake, doing who knows what? But then a month ago things took an unexpected, yet very exciting, change of direction....
Millie came up to visit me in Connecticut for a day (we too Sammie and Matthew to the Bronz Zoo). Then after work on Friday we drove back down to DC together because I wanted to go to an Orioles baseball game in Baltimore (which ended up not happening.) While I was down in DC that weekend, Millie said something that seemed at the time to be a little crazy. "Hey Jennah, why don't you move down to DC?" This isn't the first time she has ever said this, she's been saying it for years in fact. Then after saying it over and over again, and even introducing me to people as her friend Jennah who was moving to DC, it started to not sound so crazy?!? I love that city, the people are great, I really wasn't ready to leave the East Coast completely, and I would only be a few hours away from Connecticut, were just some of the pros in my thought process. Then with two roommates already lined up and ready to take me in, it was almost too much for me to take in. The more and more I thought about it, the more and more it made sense to me that I WAS going to move to DC, and that this was all really happening...
So here I am now, 7 weeks away from leaving Stamford Connecticut, closing that chapter of my life and getting ready to start a new one in Washington DC. I guess when people say "Change is Good" you have to be willing to accept that for yourself, and it REALLY will be! :)
