Everyday before Samantha and Matthew go down for their naps they get to request a song for their "Dance Party!" It usually is a Celine Dion song requested by Sammie but today we were in a rapping kind of mood with a break dance twist!

Bronx Zoo
Last week I took Samantha and Matthew to the Bronx Zoo. It was such a beautiful day and the kids had a blast. I even had a little fun too looking at all of the animals. (I'm not the biggest animal lover!) I think the highlight of the trip was riding in the sky buckets. It totally reminded me of Disneyland back in the day when they still had sky buckets...(until that stupid man had to go and jump out of one and think he could get away with suing Disney, he ruined it for everyone :( It was also nice not having to push the double stroller up and down all the hills in the Zoo. Needless to say if I wanted to skip a workout that night, I could have!

Traveling through the Asia section of the zoo with little Matthew on my lap!

Sammie and Matthew loved looking at all of the animals! Matthew would even imitate them and knew all of his animal sounds! And it never fails...another timer picture with the kids! They love waiting to tell me when and if the flash goes off!

ALDS at Fenway
Last Sunday I was able to experience the game of my life!!! Earlier in the week I decided to find some tickets to the ALDS Game 3 in Boston. The Red Sox were playing my favorite team of all time...The Angels!! I called my little brother Torey who is going to school in Utah on Thursday and asked him if he wanted to fly out to Connecticut and drive up to Boston with me that weekend? Of course he jumped on the first flight he could on Friday to New York and we headed up to Boston Sunday morning for the game. The Angels were down 2-0 in the series and this was a must win for us seeing that it was a best of 5 series. (We should have been up 2 games going into Boston, but I won't go into that)
We arrived at Fenway early because we wanted to see batting practice. We walked in and were pretty much the first people there. We walked straight down to the Angels Dugout and waited for them to take the field and hit some BP. Torey and I made sure to wear our Angels gear, but I'm going to be honest I was a little nervous walking into Fenway Park down 2 games and up against some of the rudest fans in baseball. We had been in the park for about a half hour and still had yet to see a fellow Angel fan. We were having a blast saying hi to all the players, taking pictures of them and even having my picture taken for the OC Register! They started to head into the dugout and clean up batting practice. At this point I started to yell at the batting coach for a baseball and he threw a few into the stands. Torey and I both caught one! Then Mike Scioscia walked in front of us and I told Torey to get his autograph on his ticket. He did! We were in heaven and still standing down by the dugout when they started to announce the starting lineup. We eventually moved to our seats and sat down just in time to watch Chone Figgins start off the game with a lead off double. People in our section were not very happy to have a couple of Angel fans sitting next to them, but contrary to popular belief they were actually very respectful and nice to us. Who knew? I think the thing that sealed the deal was that they knew we were true and loyal fans from California and weren't just jumping on the so called "band wagon" Everyone knew our names...it was as if we were at Cheers! I mean come on, we were in Boston! At one point the man behind Torey called him by first name and said he had better sit down or 37,000 of his friends were going to be very upset with him. :) Well the game went 12 innings and 5 1/2 hours later we were walking out of Fenway at 1am with an amazing win and a 3 hour drive back down to Connecticut. Well we were able to add one more thing to our amazing night, we got interviewed outside of the park and friends back at home in Los Angeles saw our interview on TV. It was one of the best nights of my life!
It's too bad they had to go and lose the way they did the next night. I would be lying if I said I didn't cry a little when my Angels got eliminated from the playoffs. This was suppose to be our year. It was the first time our club had a 100 game winning season and an unbelievable squad. But what do you expect when you leave so many base runners on, can't produce hits or close out innings? It was our season, but not our postseason I guess? Well the 2009 season is only 5 months away!
